We were so excited to see 12-year-old Luke go home because he worked hard to get there. Luke is a former resident who recently began living with a relative in Arizona. He is a shining example of our mission – to successfully return children to a family or community. Luke has come a long way from being admitted into DHS custody because of physical and sexual abuse. He was angry and lacked confidence. Through the trauma-informed therapies and support provided at Genesis, including life skills and social skill groups, Luke is more confident, sharing, and patient. Once he learned how to control his anger, he learned life can be a lot more enjoyable. He’s now successfully thriving in a new city and home with family!
