Kiera Hill has been with The Genesis Project for more than two years. She is known for her calm, caring approach during all circumstances. She is pretty amazing and we'd like to share her thoughts about Why We Do:
Working with boys with behavioral issues is challenging. Why do you keep coming back?
Over time, I started to build bonds and genuine relationships with our boys - despite the challenges.
What do you hope to gain personally by working with our boys?
I want to be able to make a difference in our boys' lives by teaching them life skills so they can live independently in the future. I want to see our boys become successful and overcome their past traumas.
What have you learned that you didn't know before working at The Genesis Project?
How certain trauma triggers can affect our boys' behaviors and ways of thinking.
When you describe The Genesis Project to people you know, what is the one thing you want them to know about our organization and our clients?
We are a therapeutic residential facility. We provide trauma-informed care for our boys who have been abused and neglected. Our goal is to provide our boys with the necessary tools to return to the community in the most successful way.
