Myla Cobb is a direct care supervisor at The Genesis Project. She works the overnight shift and subs in the afternoons and evenings. Her caring demeanor reflects the trust and respect she’s achieved among our boys. Always willing to do what’s best, we are so fortunate to have her leadership and commitment.
Why do You keep coming back to Genesis?
God guided me to The Genesis Project. I knew from there it was a blessing! I was blessed to even be present and in others’ presences. I knew it would be a great opportunity to show my potential, elevate my maturity, and my self-esteem.
What do you hope to gain personally by working with our boys?
I have already gained so much positivity, pride, and structure. I want to continue to allow myself to be open-minded and sociable, willing to learn, have fun, grow a bond with the clients, and still be able to build a career.
What have you learned that you didn’t know before working at Genesis ?
I learned how important support is – support mentally and physically – when dealing with different, challenging youth.
When you describe The Genesis Project to people you know, what is one thing you want them to know about our organization and our clients?
Every organization has pros and cons. Yes, there are difficult times, but difficult situations don’t last forever. We are a team with strong faith and hope. It takes having a big heart to be in this position at The Genesis Project. You will learn something new every day. The goal is to be capable of motivating and encouraging our clients who’ve had a rough day to finish off with a great day.
