"My name is Nakiah (pronounced nuh-KEY-uh), and I’m the Activities Coordinator at The Genesis Project! Working with children has always been my passion. Over the past seven years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with kids in various settings, and for the last two years, I’ve focused specifically on supporting children with behavioral and emotional challenges.I joined The Genesis Project six months ago, and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. Every day, I strive to create safe, engaging, and healing spaces for the boys in our care—spaces where they can laugh, learn, and grow despite the hardships they’ve faced.I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Therapy and an Associate’s degree in American Sign Language, both from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. These tools have helped me better communicate, connect, and advocate for the children I serve. My goal is to continue making a positive impact—one activity, one moment, and one child at a time."
